Google - I love you

I'm fascinated with Google, I love all these mash up apps and how easy it is to syncronize my Gmail with different calendars, how I can share bookmarks and blogs and links with Google Reader, how I can now txt message Jeff free of charge from Gmail and how I can store my work documents online with google Doc and access them anywhere.
I still need to try the video chatting function, but all in all Google has made my life a lot easier.
There are privacy issues and the extent of this scope is something I haven't looked into that much yet..it might come.

Anyway, the reason for this post is because my mum showed me this today. Another shiny beacon from Google :D

I'm looking at phones right now...I feel like getting a new one.

I'm still wondering if I should get the iPhone, but i don't think I will. Its more of a toy, than a good phone, and there are some factors I'm very sceptical about. My boss at Enkrona.se has the iPhone, but never uses it, so i used her phone for one day.
The battery life is horrid. Our customer service uses iPhones and they don't play with the applications but ahve to charge the phones a lot and I hear them complain about the bad battery life quite frequently.
I heard from our main consultant who bought an iPhone, that despite having so much wireless functionality, there's no possibility to transfer data wirelessly to your computer. You still need a cable to connect..that was a bummer for me!

I also read on Phonereport that there is no voice dialling, voice recording, no instant messaging, GPS inaccuracy making the iPhone as a car unit somewhat redundant and no copy and paste function.

The instant messaging can be solved with nifty programs like Fring for anyone not aware of that. Fring doesn't work with my LG Viewty though :(

Gotta blow my nose and shower. That's all.

Well, the iPhone - which I'm loving, by the way - has applications for instant messaging, voice dialling and voice recording; but none of these things are native to the phone and have to be installed manually; but that's a piece of cake and can be done directly on the phone.

Also, the GPS isn't all that bad, I haven't had any major problems with it.

My major gripes with the iPhone are: no MMS service, no video recording with the camera. Both of these things are supported in the hardware, however, and will probably be coming in a firmware upgrade during 2009.
